MARRIAGE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

How to secure Marriage License
1. Contracting parties between 18-21 years of age, not having emancipated by previous marriage must:
a)    Present the original of BIRTH CERTIFICATE
b)    In default thereof (a) BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE
c)    RESIDENCE CERTIFICATE
d)    Exhibit to the Municipal Civil Registrar the consent to their marriage of their father, mother,surviving parent or guardian, or person having legal charge of them in the order mentioned, the consent shall be manifested in writing by the interested party, who personally appears before the Municipal Civil Registrar.

2. Contracting parties between the ages of 21 and 25 must:
a)    Ask their parents (Father and Mother) or guardian for advice.
b)    If they do not obtain such advice, or if it be unfavorable, The Marriage License shall not be issued till after 3 months following the completion of the publication of the application.
c)    Parents (Father and Mother) or guardian giving advice must personally appear before the Municipal Civil Registrar;

3. Contracting parties must present a Certificate issued by a priest, imam, or minister authorized to solemnize marriage under the Code or a marriage Counselor duly accredited by the proper government agency to the effect of that the Contracting Parties have undergone Marriage Counseling.

4. Fill up application for Marriage License.

5. Proceed to Treasurer’s office and pay P350.00 as Marriage Fee.

6. Present to the Office of the Municipal Civil Registrar the original receipt covering above-cited payment.

7. Return to the Office of the Municipal Civil Registrar Ten (10) days after filing of the Application for Marriage License.

8. Ten (10) days after filing of the Application for Marriage License, the latter shall be released to the Contracting parties.

9. Pay Two (P2.00) as Marriage License Fees.

10. Additional Requirement as per Memorandum Circular No.2006-01 dated January 11,2016 CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage) both parties (from Philippine Statistics Office).
