The Cainta Municipal Hospital is a government-owned, general, level 1 hospital that provides medical/surgical treatment on an in-patient, out-patient and emergency basis including other health care services such as diagnostic (lab and radiology) and ancillary services (such as pharmacy).

Under DOH AO 2012-0012, signed last July 18, 2012, among others, the Cainta Municipal Hospital also has an operating room in order to be able to provide surgical services.

LEVEL I SERVICE CAPABILITY

A. EMERGENCY ROOM SERVICES

  • The Emergency Room Service provides a 24-hour non-departmentalized service that provides initial clinical care and management to patients requiring immediate treatment, such as:

  • Cardiopulmonary-Cerebral Resuscitation (Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

  • Pediatric Emergencies (Acute Asthma & Status Asthmaticus, Acute Pneumonias, Respiratory Distress, Perinatal Asphyxia, Upper Airway Obstruction, Anaphylaxis-Acute allergies, Circulatory Failure & Shock, Congestive Heart Failure, Diarrheal Disease & Dehydration, Gastrointestinal Bleeding, Hematologic Emergencies, Status Epilepticus, etc.)

  • Medical Emergencies (Gastro Intestinal Emergencies, Acute Gout, Acute Thyroid Crisis, Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Hypertensive Crisis, Acute Heart Failure, Angina Pectoris, Acute Myocardial Infarction, Cardiac Arrythmias, Cardiogenic Shock, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Respiratory Failure, Drowning, Hemoptysis, etc.)

  • Neurologic Emergencies (Hypokalemic Periodic Paralysis, Tonic-Clonic Seizures, Acute Alcohol Syndromes, Intoxications of the Nervous System, Increased Intracranial Pressure-Cerebrovascular Accidents, etc.)

  • Psychiatric Emergencies (Suicide, Assaultive Behavior or Violence, Acute Psychotic States, Anxiety Related States, Organic Psychiatric Emergencies, etc.)

  • Obstetric-Gynecologic Emergencies (Bleeding secondary to Abortion, Ectopic Pregnancy, Abnormal Uterine Bleeding, Hypertension in Pregnancy, Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, etc.)

  • Surgical Emergencies (Triage, Acute Abdomen-Appendicitis, Penetrating Injuries, Blunt Abdominal Injuries, Pneumothorax, Thermal Burns, Fractures of Long Bones, Hand Injuries, Head Injuries, Maxillofacial Injuries, Foreign Bodies, Acute Scrotal Pain, Urinary Retention, etc.)

  • Ocular Emergencies (Foreign Material Injury, Inflammatory Conditions, Trauma, etc.)

  • Otorhinolaryngologic Emergencies (Dizziness, Epistaxis, Foreign Bodies, etc.)

  • Environmental Emergencies (Stings, Snake Bites, Human Bites, Dog Bites, etc.)

  • Toxicologic Emergencies (Coordinated with National Poison Control – PGH)

  • Emergency Procedures

    • Endotracheal Intubation

    • Thoracentesis (with ultrasound markings)

    • Thoracostomy

    • Tracheostomy

    • Abdominal Paracentesis (with ultrasound markings)

    • Urethral Catheterization and Supra-pubic Catheterization

    • Vascular Access

 

B. OUT-PATIENT SERVICES

  • The hospital provides is licensed by the Department of Health with an Authorized Bed Capacity of forty-two (42) patient beds for admissions from ER and out-patient service. Implementing Bed allotment (based on management decision) is Eighty-Five (85) distributed as follows:

    • Cardiac Drugs - Coronary vasodilators, Vasopressor Agents, Anti-Hypertensive Drugs (oral & parenteral)

Drugs for commonly encountered hospital admission cases shall be provided for by the hospital
 

  • For Outpatient Unit – Basic generic, non-prohibited drugs and first-line antibiotics in oral (tablets/liquid) forms.

 

  • RADIOLOGY  – Chest for heart & Lungs, Extremities, Skull, Vertebral Column, Localization of Foreign Body, Pelvis, Shoulder Girdle, Thoracic Cage and Abdomen

  • ULTRASONOLOGY – also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, involves exposing part of the body to high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body. Ultrasound exams do not use ionizing radiation (as used in x-rays). Because ultrasound images are captured in real-time, they can show the structure and movement of the body's internal organs, as well as blood flowing through blood vessels.
