CAINTA PARTNERS WITH HOLCIM PHILS.

October 14, 2022

Last August 26, 2022, Cainta signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Holcim Philippines, Inc. for the co-processing of Cainta’s plastic wastes.

Even before assuming public office, Mayor Elen Nieto began the ground for the segregation and recycling of all plastics, with the installation of plastic recycling bins, initially in Filinvest East Homes in Brgy. San Isidro and in Domus One in Brgy. San Andres.  To date, there are more than 120 Plastics Recycling Bins distributed all over Cainta.

With the huge amount of plastic wastes collected, this partnership with Holcim is timely as Cainta generates more than a 10-wheeler truck’s worth of plastic. Holcim has provided tonner bags to Cainta, through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), with which Cainta fills with their plastic waste. Holcim has committed to pick up these plastic wastes once a month and has done so last August 26 and September 22.
